About Porthleven

Porthleven is a wonderful mixture of a working fishing village and a holiday destination.  You will be amazed at the variety of shops, pubs, bars and restaurants that are in the village, including an ice cream parlour that was voted as one of the top ten in Cornwall!  We also have an excellent fishmonger, delicatessen and bakers, and as for art galleries, well you are spoilt for choice.

But there is much more to this port than just shops and restaurants.  The walks here are superb, you can walk to Loe Pool, the largest freshwater pool by the sea, surrounded by unspoilt National Trust land.  Loe Pool has a serene natural beauty that is enchanting.

Step outside Haven cottage and turn right, 2 minutes later you will be greeted by the most spectacular views as you follow the coastal footpath, passing the remains of Wheal Prosper to Rinsey.  From there you can carry on to Praa Sands and stop for a cream tea at the beachside cafe before returning to your cosy cottage.
